Location

We are located 29 kilometers south of Dominical, just past kilometer 170. We are very close to several major beaches, Playa Ballena, Playa Tortuga, Playa Ventanas, Playa Piñuelas and Playa Hermosa. Dominical has a great surfing beach as well as a Spanish language school.

Mar Y Selva Ecolodge is within a thirty minute drive of Palmar Sur airport. The flight between San José and Palmar Sur is about 45 minutes. We can provide transportation between either the airport in San Jose or Palmar Sur and “Mar Y Selva Ecolodge”, as well as from the bus stations in Uvita, Dominical, or San Isidro for a fee.

If you choose to rent a vehicle in San Jose, we are about a four and a half hour drive away. A four wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended.

Directions:

Take the Panamerican Highway (Ruta 2) from San José towards San Isidro de Perez Zeledón. From there continue towards Dominical where the road becomes a “T”. Make a left and continue 29 kms. south until you see a kilometer marker on the right hand of the road that says “170”. Go 500 meters further and make a left at the sign. Go another kilometer and we are on your left.

Or

Take the Panamerican Highway (Ruta 2) from San José towards San Isidro de Perez Zeledón. Continue on the same road to Palmar Norte and make a right towards Dominical. You will go around 33 kms. and will see our sign to make a right up the hill . Go another kilometer and we are on your left. This is slightly longer but has fewer curves and is easier for persons not familiar with mountain type roads.

Or

From San Jose to Jaco on the northern Pacific Coast, down the Costanera Sur Highway through Quepos and Dominical. Continue south 29 more kms. until you see a kilometer marker on the right hand of the road that says “170”. Go 500 meters further and make a left at the sign. Go another kilometer and we are on your left.
